Tudor’s Brightest Black Bay Chrono: Strap Pairings for Tudor 39mm “Bumblebee” M79310N-0001
The new Tudor Black Bay Chrono 39 is not simply a smaller version of the familiar Black Bay Chrono. Ref. M79310N-0001 brings the case down to 39mm, reduces the lug width to 20mm, and pairs that more compact platform with one of Tudor’s most distinctive combinations: a bright yellow dial, black chronograph counters, and a black tachymeter bezel. Tudor lists the case at 13.1mm thick, powered by the automatic MT5813 chronograph movement with approximately 70 hours of power reserve.
For anyone looking to take it off the steel bracelet, that gives us a very clear starting point. The strap needs to fit the new 39mm / 20mm configuration correctly, and then it needs to work with a watch that already has a very strong yellow-and-black identity.
We fitted the Bumblebee with a range of black, yellow, and neutral straps to make that decision easier.

1. Know Exactly Which Bumblebee You Own
Before choosing a strap, make sure you're looking at the correct Black Bay Chrono.
This guide is specifically for the Tudor Black Bay Chrono 39 Ref. M79310N-0001 with the yellow dial and black sub-counters.
It is important not to order only by the name “Black Bay Chrono”, because this new 39mm reference uses different dimensions from the established 41mm Black Bay Chrono platform.

For a strap buyer, the most important distinction is simple:
Black Bay Chrono 39 M79310N-0001 = 20mm at the lugs.
If your watch has a different reference or a 41mm case, do not assume the same strap will fit.
2. The Strap Choices We Would Actually Put on It
The Bumblebee makes strap selection easier than it first appears because the watch already gives you two strong colors to work with.
Rather than treating every strap below as equally suitable, these are the combinations we would actually recommend depending on how you want to wear the watch.
Our Best Overall Choice
If you are buying your first strap for the Bumblebee and want one option that is difficult to get wrong, start here.

The most important thing is not to order by “Black Bay Chrono” name alone.
The 39mm Bumblebee uses a 20mm lug width, so the strap should be ordered specifically for the M79310N-0001 configuration rather than assuming it shares the same dimensions as other Black Bay Chrono references.
If you plan to reuse your original Tudor clasp, make sure the strap is configured for the correct buckle-end width and clasp dimensions before ordering.
If you prefer a simpler setup, the strap can also be paired with a tang buckle.
4. Need a Strap for Another Tudor?
The recommendation above is built specifically around the yellow-and-black M79310N-0001.
It should not automatically be applied to every Tudor.
A navy Black Bay, burgundy Black Bay 58, GMT with a multi-color bezel, or Pelagos may need a completely different material, color, thickness, and strap construction.
Liger also produces straps for selected Tudor models and configurations, including:
- Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight 39mm
- Tudor Black Bay 41mm
- Tudor Black Bay GMT
- Tudor Pelagos
- Tudor Pelagos Ultra 43mm
- Selected other Tudor references with standard lug construction
So if your Tudor is not M79310N-0001, confirm the exact reference before ordering.
A strap that looks right on the Bumblebee may not have the correct dimensions—or the right visual balance—for another Tudor.
5. Before You Check Out
Q: Is the Tudor Black Bay Chrono 39 Bumblebee really a 20mm strap watch?
A: Yes. Tudor officially specifies a 20mm lug width for Ref. M79310N-0001.
Q: Is this the same strap size as the 41mm Black Bay Chrono?
A: Do not assume so. The M79310N-0001 is the newer 39mm case platform with 20mm lugs, so order specifically for this reference rather than selecting by the Black Bay Chrono collection name alone.
Q: Which yellow strap would you recommend first?
A: Yellow Epsom.
It gives you the full yellow-dial connection while its structured grain keeps the combination cleaner than an untextured bright-yellow strap.
Q: What should I choose if yellow is too bold and black feels too obvious?
A: Hurricane Grey Denim.
It is the most natural middle ground in this selection.
Q: Which option works best if I want a more refined look?
A: Black Crocodile.
It deliberately moves the Bumblebee away from its original bracelet-driven sports-watch appearance and gives the watch a much more polished second personality.
Q: Can I reuse my existing Tudor buckle or clasp?
A: Potentially, yes, but the strap needs to be made around the correct buckle-end width and hardware configuration. Confirm the clasp or buckle dimensions when ordering rather than assuming that any 20mm strap will work with the hardware.
Q: Can I add quick-release spring bars?
A: Liger supports quick-release construction on selected Tudor strap configurations, including custom Tudor orders. If you plan to rotate between several straps and the bracelet, this is worth selecting where available.
Final Recommendation
If you want to keep the decision simple:
Buy Black Canvas if you want the easiest everyday strap.
Buy Yellow Epsom if the yellow dial is exactly why you chose the Bumblebee.
Buy Hurricane Grey Denim if you want something less obvious than either.
Everything else becomes a more specific choice based on whether you want the watch sportier, cleaner, more luxurious, or more expressive.
And whichever direction you choose, start by confirming the part that cannot be subjective:
Tudor Black Bay Chrono 39 — Ref. M79310N-0001 — 20mm lug width.
