The OMEGA MoonSwatch That Makes Strap Choice Easy: Mission to the Moon After the Factory VELCRO® Comes Off
The OMEGA x Swatch Bioceramic MoonSwatch Mission to the Moon, reference SO33M100, is one of the easiest MoonSwatch models to personalize — but that does not mean every strap works equally well.
A steel-grey Bioceramic case surrounds a black dial and black tachymeter bezel, while white hands, indexes, scales, and typography create the contrast. The factory configuration finishes the watch with a black VELCRO® strap, reinforcing the space-program character that defines the MoonSwatch collection. Swatch lists the watch at 42 mm in diameter, 13.25 mm thick, and 47.30 mm lug-to-lug.
Which strap makes sense for the way you want your Mission to the Moon to look and wear?
This guide answers that question by looking first at compatibility and proportion, then colour and material, and finally at nine different Liger Straps pairings shown on the SO33M100.

1. Mission to the Moon SO33M100: The Specifications That Matter When Buying a Strap

Most specification sheets tell you about a watch. A strap guide should tell you what those specifications mean for the strap you are about to buy.

Swatch confirms the case dimensions, material, factory strap, and 3-bar water resistance. Independent hands-on measurements of the original MoonSwatch case also confirm a 20 mm lug width.
For strap buyers, the most important number is:
20 mm at the lugs.
2. Our Best Strap Choices for the Mission to the Moon
The easiest way to choose a strap for this watch is to start with one question:
Which part of the watch do you want the strap to follow?
Canvas VELCRO®
When You Want to Keep the Original MoonSwatch Character
If you like the look and feel of the original VELCRO® strap but want something more distinctive, a Canvas VELCRO® strap is the most direct alternative.
It keeps the wide, casual, space-inspired character of the factory setup while adding the texture of canvas.
- Velcro Canvas Black (Extra-padding style)
- Velcro Canvas Dark Grey (Extra-padding style)
Best for: owners who want to preserve the original MoonSwatch personality rather than convert the watch into a more traditional leather-strap configuration.
Grey
The Safest Overall Direction
Grey is the easiest place to start because it connects directly with the steel-grey Bioceramic case.
It keeps the Mission to the Moon monochrome, but removes the technical look of the factory black VELCRO®.
- Croco Moon Grey
- Minerva Grey
- Racing Grey
- Suede Arctic Grey
Black
When You Want the Dial and Bezel to Lead
Black works for the opposite reason.
Instead of following the grey case, it continues the colour of the dial and tachymeter bezel into the strap. The result is darker and more conventional.
- Racing Black
- Dappled Black
- Denim Black Selvedge
Textured Black and Anthracite
When the Strap Should Stand Out
Not every Mission to the Moon strap needs to be a safe first choice.
The neutral case and dial also make the SO33M100 a good base for more unusual textures.
- Elephant Anthracite
- Ostrich Leg Nubuck Black
3. What Size Strap Does the Mission to the Moon Need?
The MoonSwatch Mission to the Moon uses a 20 mm lug width. Fratello's hands-on coverage of the original MoonSwatch confirms the 20 mm spacing between the lugs.

The SO33M100 is 42 mm across, so a very thin dress strap can look undersized next to the watch.
At the same time, the matte Bioceramic case does not need an excessively thick or heavily padded strap.
A medium construction is the easiest proportion to recommend.
Most importantly:
order the strap in 20 mm and select the correct length for your wrist.
4. Need a Strap for Another MoonSwatch?
The same colour recommendation should not automatically be applied to every MoonSwatch.
Mission to Mercury, Mission to Mars, Mission to Neptune, Moonphase, Earthphase, and the other references each have different dial, case, and accent colours.
A strap that works naturally on the grey-and-black Mission to the Moon may not be the best choice for another reference.
Liger Straps can also be configured for selected MoonSwatch models, including:
- Mission to Mercury
- Mission to Earth
- Mission to Mars
- Mission to Jupiter
- Mission to Saturn
- Mission to Neptune
- Mission to Uranus
- Mission to Venus
- Mission to the Sun
- Mission to Pluto
- Mission to the Moonphase
- Mission to Earthphase
- MoonSwatch 1965
Always confirm your exact MoonSwatch model before ordering.
5. What to Know Before Choosing Your Strap
Q: What strap width fits the OMEGA x Swatch Mission to the Moon SO33M100?
A: 20 mm at the lugs. The MoonSwatch case uses 20 mm lug spacing.
Q: Which strap should I buy first?
A: Racing Grey. It follows the grey case, works with the black dial and bezel, and suits the chronograph design without introducing another colour.
Q: What if I want something less sporty than Racing Grey?
A: Choose Arctic Grey. It gives you the same natural connection to the case in a quieter everyday configuration.
Q: Which strap gives the watch the sportiest look?
A: Racing Black. The perforated construction makes the chronograph character more obvious.
Q: Which strap is best if I do not want leather?
A: Black Selvedge Denim. It keeps the watch casual and stays within the original black-grey palette.
Q: Which three straps should I compare first?
A: Racing Grey, Arctic Grey, and Dappled Black. Racing Grey is the strongest all-round choice, Arctic Grey is quieter, and Dappled Black is the safest classic black option.
Q: I still cannot decide. What should I order?
A: Racing Grey. For the SO33M100, it is the easiest combination to recommend because it works with the grey case, black chronograph elements, and white dial details at the same time.
